HOW TO "Matcha Ritual"

Basic Way (1-2min)
The simplest, minimum method for beginners to enjoy matcha.

Preparation

  • Sift

    Remove clumps for a smooth texture. Use our Sifter Tin to sift all matcha at once, eliminating the need to sift every time.

  • Hot Water

    Use water at 80°-90°C for the best taste. Boiling water will increase bitterness.

Ritual

  • 1. Scoop

    Use a chashaku (tea scoop) to add 2 scoops (1.5-2g) of matcha into the bowl.

  • 2. Add Water

    Pour 60-70ml of hot water.

  • 3. Whisk

    Use a chasen (bamboo whisk) to whisk for 15-30 seconds.

    Tap the bottom to distribute matcha, then whisk quickly back and forth, finishing with light strokes on the surface to create a fine foam.

  • 4. Enjoy!

Iced Matcha

Whisk with 40ml of hot water, add plenty of ice, stir lightly, and wait a moment before drinking.

Iced Latte

Whisk 3g of matcha (3 scoops) with 40ml of water, then add 150ml of milk and ice.
