Description

Crafted by Tatehiro Kubo, one of only 13 certified chasen masters in all of Japan, this handcrafted bamboo whisk is a true work of art.

Every step—from splitting the bamboo to weaving the delicate threads—is done entirely by hand.

This is a special collaboration with Zenkyu Matcha: the string is dyed in ZENKYU’s signature color, and the handle is engraved with the our logo.

 

How To

1. Tap the bottom to distribute matcha.
2. Whisk quickly back and forth.
3. Finishing with light strokes on the surface to create a fine foam.

How To Care

[Before Use]
Soak it in hot water to soften it before use.

[After Use]
Rinse with water after use and let it dry completely.

[Storage]
It's best to store it standing upright to help it maintain its shape.

Takehiro Kubo is a certified traditional craftsman from Takayama, Nara—Japan’s historic center of chasen-making.

Each whisk is carefully handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo.

The colorful thread is woven by his wife, honoring the tradition of making chasen as a couple.
